Best weekend in DC yet...

Brit my bf/sister I never had came from Huston, TX this last weekend for a much needed visit! We froze our butts off but had a blast in the process. We managed to pack in most of DC and a lot of calories in 48 hours. On Saturday we checked out the Capital, the monuments, as well as the Natural History Museum and the American History Museum - (where while fighting were asked by the security guard if we were sisters).

Now it is my opinion that visiting the Natural History Museum is the equivalent of a walking nap. However, that was before I had visited it with Brit; she does not have the need to read every single plaque and contemplate the meaning of life - it was refreshing.

My favorite stuffed critter at the Natural History Museum - an verry tiny mouse of some sort -I guess if I read the plaques I would know.

Deidre, Me, & Brit @ The Washington Monument

Deidre met us in DC part way through the day and then came to dinner with us - it was so much fun to hang with my ballet girls, too bad Texas is so far away!

On Sunday we checked out the Newseum, which was amazing!

Us in the 4-D Theatre

The Newseum has several sections on the Berlin Wall and a watch tower from East Germany that you can actually go inside of.

We lucked out and the National Archives were actually open and so we got to view the Magna Carta, The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, & the Bill of Rights.
Having Brittany come visit made my year, it was like Christmas in January! I forget just how much I love to hang out with her, I really wish we lived closer - maybe someday!

A Big thanks to the Man...
-who chauffeured us around DC, drooping us off at and picking us up at museums so we would not have to walk in the cold
- who made us breakfast and took us out to dinner
-who carried the purses when they got heavy
-who watched the coats and bags during bathroom brakes, and
-who took picture after picture with multiple cameras
LB You Rock!

Still Alive

No worries LB and I are still alive. LB survived his first semester of Law School and we recently made it back from Portland, OR where we spent Christmas with my side of the family. On New Years day we ventured down town with our friends the Speers for some fun at The Natural History Museum and The National Christmas Tree. It was freezing - humidity and wind makes winter so much worse!

So I guess I am back to blogging now - that is if anyone is still reading.
