Yes Ma'am

Ok, so I am reading Cold Mountain (which I have not finished so don't ruin it) which has put me on a some what of a southern kick, thus I made fried chicken and it turned out ok for my first attempt.

The real reason for this post is to put up pictures of my new apron that Marsha (my mother) made me. I absolutely love my apron I come home from work and put it on just to pour cereal, I have very seriously considered wearing it work with a white t-shirt and jeans. I realize that this is a bad picture of me in the apron so I will take another and post it just to illustrate the cuteness of my fabulous apron. I am trying to convince my mom to make the aprons and sell them online!

Backpacking

We just got back from the Uintas and Amethyst lake! Eric and I went with three of our friends Mel and Jim, and Heidi. It was an awesome trip and much more sane that last years climb of Kings Peak, the only draw backs was the mosquitoes, the fact that I have mosquito bites on my bottom, and that I laid awake both nights worrying that bears were going to eat me!

The crew at Amethyst Lake~

Mel and I "jumped" into the 30 degree lake in our underwear, why? Because your only young once!

Our only regret was not "jumping" in naked... (oh but then we could not of taken documentation)

Yes I took this picture with my new tripod (which Eric carried in), I am proud of this picture if you think it sucks don't tell me, let me keep my bubble!

This is Mel and Jim's new puppy Sunny. Hubby and I think she is so cute and having her along with us prompted many a conversation about getting a dog, what bread and what the perfect name would be. In reality it was all wishfully thinking as we currently live in a cinder block bomb shelter.

The wildflowers were just gorgeous~

happy independence day

Nothing says happy birthday America like a Miley Cyres Extravaganza (aka: Stadium of Fire), seriously people whatever happened to a BBQ, sparklers and armature pyrotechnics? So why was I there? Free Tickets and "family obligation"!

To recap the night for ya - to much traffic, no caffeine in the stadium (I quit diet coke so I don't know why this bugs me but it does), Glen Beck as the MC, F-16 fly over (only really cool part), men jump out of airplane with flags, blue man group plays, Miley pays badly FOREVER, kids get board and ask for her to stop so the fireworks can start, fireworks start, we are so close that hot ash is falling on us, Miley extravaganza ends, we sit in car for hour not moving waiting to get out of the parking lot. I don't get a hot dog or a sparkler, however we do camp out in the backyard and play Pinochle till 4am.

Brooklyn prior to the start~

Mandy and Linda
